About Quality First Systems

Precision leak testing instruments, systems, and service since 1981.

Our History

Quality First Systems has roots going back to 1981. For over four decades, the company has focused on one thing: building reliable leak test equipment for production environments. We design and manufacture instruments for mass flow, pressure decay, and differential pressure testing.

In 2024, the company was acquired under new ownership with a commitment to continuing that track record while investing in updated technology and expanded service capabilities.

We are headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and serve customers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Our team includes engineers and field service technicians with deep experience in leak testing applications across automotive, aerospace, medical device, HVAC, and industrial manufacturing.

How We Work

We keep it practical

Our job is to give you a test system that works on day one and keeps working for years. We focus on proven test methods, quality components, and straightforward designs that your maintenance team can actually support.

We stand behind the equipment

We provide installation, calibration, training, and ongoing service for everything we sell. If something is not working right, call us. Our field service team handles issues directly.

We design for the long term

Our current instrument platform uses non-obsolete components with a design objective of 10+ years of spare parts availability. We have seen what happens when manufacturers get stuck with equipment they cannot get parts for, and we build our systems to avoid that.

Calibration & Quality Standards

Quality First Systems manufactures and calibrates equipment at our Sterling Heights facility. We maintain a controlled calibration program where our reference standards are calibrated at defined intervals by ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories.

We want to be straightforward about this: we are not an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory ourselves. But our calibration process is documented, our reference standards are traceable, and the results support customer quality systems and audits. If you need accredited calibration for a specific requirement, we can work with you to arrange that through our accredited partners.

Our calibrations are:

  • Traceable — Connected to nationally and internationally recognized measurement standards
  • Documented — Full procedures, records, and certificates provided
  • Suitable — Accepted by customers for production quality system compliance
